Designer of November 2011 - Cassie Castillo

Cassie Castillo by the courtesy of herself

It's time for this month's designer interview! While I sometimes interview designers I haven't knitted anything from yet, this month's designer made the Argyle Cabled Beret pattern which I knitted (and loved). I really like her other designs too, they're so usable but all with that "little twist"!

Without further ado, I want to present Cassie Castillo to you all fine readers of worsted-knitt.net :)

More Ruffles!

Ruffle yarn
Worsted Knitt

This ruffle yarn seems to be very "in" currently. I picked up some this summer from Finland. In fact, the brand I bought is a German yarn, which is pretty funny: travelling to Finland, buying German yarn and bringing it back to Germany :) But at that time, I had not seen that yarn here. Now it's everywhere!

So I made a scarf, too. I cast on 8 stitches, and knit until I had two balls used up. The result: a very ruffly, ca 180 cm long scarf.

Keep it Simple Stash Swap - I've been spoiled!

KISS present
Worsted Knitt

After my last successful swap I decided to join a few other swaps too, as it is so much fun making and receiving presents!

The Keeping it simple swap is group with different kinds of swaps going on, and this time it was supposed to be all from your stash. Love the idea!

This swap present is from Alison whose Ravelry nick I don't know (yet), all the way from Scotland!

November WIPs

Charity Socks

Another WIP post! I love them, but do them way too seldom. Let's see what I have on the needles...

First, there's a suprise project for a swap I am taking part in! No photo or info about that!

Second there is a pair of socks, which I hope will soon become a FO, as they're supposed to be sold for charity (my local animal shelter) on the 12th November! This is only the first sock! It'll be ca. ladies size 37 or so: it's 60 stitches across on 2,5 mm needles. The yarn is German sock yarn donated to the animal shelter by some kind person.

I went to Frechen and all I got was yarn, friends and compliments

Frechen
Lanesplitter
Filigran, Punta, Zauberball and Mexico

The Third German Ravelry Meet is currently underway - I was able to go yesterday with four other ladies from our knitting group in Essen. As Frechen is only an hours drive from here, it wasn't too big an effort.

We arrived too early and drank a coffee in a cafe nearby, then headed to the Meet. It was already crowded, especially around the yarn stands, so I quickly ran through the area to get an overview, and then sat down with a friend to knit.

Got a swap present!

Worsted Knitt

It's been a while since I've taken part in a swap, I don't know why, as I really like them! Well, I've signed up for another one now, even before I got this lovely package from Jo across the channel (UK).

Look at all the lovelies; to mention just a few: pretty yarn (Artesano Alpaca and Rennie 4-ply wool) and an extravagant scarf, tasty toffe licorice and even a mini sock blocker!
