Boyfriend hats for cancer patients

Boyfriend hat

To stay on the hat theme, here are two knits I finished ages ago, but never remembered to blog about them. I do think they are pretty enough to have their own post, though, don't you think?

In fact they were knitted last summer to support a little charity action called 100 Beanie Drive, and currently they are warming the heads of cancer patients in Australia!

Last charity knits for 2012

Last charity knits in 2012

The year 2012 was truly a year of charity knits for me - I don't know how much I actually knit but it was loads. Dozens of squares for Knit a Square, socks, cowls and mitts for the animal shelter and other things, too.

Here are my last charity knits for 2012: a bunch of squares, a kid's hat and two toddler vests. The vests are similar to the Mrs. Applebomb vest, just with a different gauge and without the cable (I admit, I was just lazy!)

Uzume socks

Another one of my older knits which I never got round to posting... but these socks are too pretty to not to be blogged about don't you think!

Yarn: German no-name sock yarn, I've forgotten the exact name
Pattern: Uzume by Monkey Toes.
Needles: 5 2,5 mm dpns, my usual set for socks
Modifications: none that I remmeber. I might have made the cuff a bit longer.
Size: about 38 European size.

Teeny Mrs. Applebomb vest

Mrs. Applebomb

I was feeling sorry for myself being so caught up in everything else other than blogging something new, and started looking through old blog posts of mine. And I noticed there were some I hadn't published yet! Yay! I can have knitting content while I still procrastinate taking pictures of my newest knits!

Ok, I'm aware that's not necessarily a good thing, but what the hey, look at this cute baby vest I knit a while ago!

Knit a Square totals for the first half of 2012

Squares for charity 05/2012
Squares sent

I've been really busy knitting for Knit a Square. The Knit a Squillion challenge should be over by now (I didn't find any info or stats of an "official ending" though), but the squares are still needed.

So I made about 40 of then in the first half a year of 2012. Here they all are! I actually forgot to count them before sending them off, but there should be about 40. I've used up so much yarn, scraps and lonely balls to make these squares, they are truly the best stash busting knit I know of.

A pile of pretty knits for charity

A pile of charity knits

I've been busy knitting for charity lately! You've already seen most of these knits, but the whole of it just looked so good and like "a lot" that I wanted to make a separate post to show these knits.

On the left we have five Calorimetry-headbands in different sizes. Next to them there is a bunch of fingerless mittens, then there are cowls and on the far right, two pairs of socks.

What's missing here are my the squares I've been making for Knit a Square lately. Look for a separate post on those!
