hat

I'm the stashbusting queen! Part 2 - Hats

More Hamster knitting! I made a hat for me, and a hat just for fun.

First my hat. It's the Rinsessa pattern from Ullaneule-web magazine (in Finnish). I made one of these as a Christmas present and just loved making and trying it on, so it was clear I need to make one for me too.

Hats and mitts for Christmas

I made these sets as Christmas presents for a 3-year-old and a 7-year-old girls. I hope they like them!

First the turqoise set (Pinja's set from Ullaneule)

For the hat, I CO 104 stitches and made the hat with 3,5mm dpns. The hat is ca 18 cm long - I made the first version too short, had to rip back to knit more rows. The mitts were made 100% according to the instructions.

The yarn is 7-Veljestä Moniraita (I think).

Knits for abandoned animals

finished and sent off some Calorimetries and a cat bed to Ompelukerho . I got the Calorimetries' designers approval for making several of them and selling them for charity. The cat bed might be given as a present to an animal shelter (based on Princess Snowball catbed from S'n'B Handbook).

I hope they get some money for the animals with my knits!

Finished Calorimetrys and WIP

I've been knitting some Calorimetrys as gifts, and hopefully I will be able to give some to Ompelukerho - women's action group for animal welfare - so they could sell them in the Christmas fairs. I am still waiting for the designers' answer, as I am not  / no one is allowed to sell them without the designers permission.

I'll swatch next time, promise!

A word (or a picture) of warning to all you out there who won't swatch. Remember my hat I was knitting a week back? Here it is knitted up. Nice, huh?

I thought it just might be a big too big for anyone, so I simply frogged it.

Now I'm thinking should I try to knit the hat again, or just to use the yarn for something else.

The hat was really fun to make; I actually got a serious knitting need last monday and practically finished it in a few hours.

On the other hand, summer's coming  - I won't be needing such a hat for a long time.
