Log Cabin blanket from stash

This month is Hamster month which means no buying yarn, and knitting as fast as I can from stash. Well, I've been doing really good! Just take a look at the blanket. What do you think it weighs?

900 grams!

And that all from stash; the not-so-lovely acrylic stash I accumulated last year when arriving in Germany "Oh my there's yarn in the supermarket, I must hoard all of this NOW!" I used almost two 400 gram giant balls of the stuff, plus some older Poundworld acrylics from Ireland.

Nick's socks

Another FO! These were finished a few weeks ago but I'm just so behind on updating the blog! Sorry... well here they are.

The yarn is Novita's 7 Veljestä, a thick Finnish sock yarn. The pattern is actually from the 7 Veljestä ball band! A very simple ribbed cuff and plain foot, with some colour changes to cheer them up. The socks were knit on 3,5mm dpns.

I'm modelling them in the pictures, so that's why they look so droopy and big - they are! On my feet. On Nick's feet they're just right!

Happy yoga socks

I work out at home, and sometimes I do yoga or pilates too. The floor is really cold though, so I thought I'd knit myself some yoga socks. They came out quite nice, even though if I were to make them again some changes would be made... I've used them a couple of times now and they really do make a difference!

2nd sweater

I started my second sweater some time ago, and noticed I won't be getting it done too quickly. So I'll show it half done and not wait for FO status before blogging.

The pattern's called Corona and I'm making it with basic acrylic yarn in fiery red colour. I'm one third through, and really like the pattern. The yarn's not so nice, but hey, I can't afford 100€ second sweaters! If I ruin this one, at least the loss won't be so bad and I will have learned a lot.
