Sudan is an extremely war-torn country, and that for a long time. The current genocide in Darfur, before that the Second Sudanese Civil War, in which over 2 million people were killed have made it difficult for the Sudanese people to go on living normally, like sending their children to school.
I'm no vegan, but I do try to avoind buying new leather clothes or shoes - basically anything that requires killing the animal to make the product. That's not always easy, but once again I noticed it's not impossible.
Another Friday, time to do another Darfur posting - I still have to do them, the bloody war is still going on, the President of Sudan is still on the loose.
This time I thought I'd link a site here in Germany, to any German readers I may have (please say hi at the comments!) Hilfe für Darfur is a humanitarian group which helps Darfurians with money and work. Currently they're working on a school project - please read more at the site.
Hooray for me! After three months, I finally copied the last post from the old Joomla-based blog to this new Drupal one. Now all the content is here, and you can see my old projects, read the older book reviews, and so on.
I'm so happy it's done, just wanted to share with you all!
I was recently made moderator of the Ravelry group "Darfur - end the Genocide", which came as a surprise. But I'm up for a challenge, so I'll do it. It's a small group anyway, the problem is there's no real discussion or "life" in the group. So please if you have any interest (and a Ravelry account) please join the group!
This is it, the new Worsted-Knitt.net. I have great expectations for it! Plus it's so pretty, too.
As you notice, all the old content is not here. It will be, later on, after I get to transfer it all. That might take a while though. Also please note that if you have ordered my feed you'll need to re-subscribe, or if you have direct links to any specific blog posts you will need to relink them too (as the link structure has changed).
