Everything else!

A lovely day in Oberhausen

Gasometer

The weather here has been good for the last weeks - the weekdays are cold, but come weekend, it's 20 degrees and sunny! As today was the same, clear skies and warm enough to wear a t-shirt, we (= me and DH) decided to take advantage and take the train to Oberhausen, a neighbor city, and visit the Gasometer, which was also one if my 101 in 1001 list items.

Greetings from Japan!

Tokyo

Sorry for the silence for the past two weeks! Maybe you'll forgive me when I tell you that I've been on my honeymoon in Japan, and frankly blogging has been the last thing on my mind!

Me and my husband had a truly wonderful trip! Here are a few impressions of the many, many things we saw and marveled at. I hope you'll give me a few days to get back on the knit blogging rhythm - I just got back yesterday and am still very much jet lagged!

Friday night net crawling

I haven't done a "look-what-I-found-on-the-Interwebz" post for a long long time! Better to catch up later than never, no?

First, I found this great kitchener stitch tutorial on Youtube. It's really clear and straightforward - take a look!

This video shows a rather interesting way to darn a sock. It really looks sturdy! I actually have a sock to repair, so I might try this soon.

I've been ill

Sorry everyone for not updating lately, I've been a bit ill and just haven't found the time or the energy to blog about my Damson shawl or my Reading in bed shrug, or the things I'll be making for Ravelympics, or my stitch markers, but it's all coming. Just give me a few days to get back on my feet!

EDIT: See, the stitch markers are already up! Enjoy :)

My dear readers, tomorrow morning me and Nick are heading to Paris for a well-deserved little break, and will then continue on to spend Christmas at Nick's parents. That means I'll be offline and back to blogging no sooner than the 28th December!

I wish you all happy holidays and merry Christmas!

Pink goth stitchmarkers

My new hobby, I might even say passion is making stitch markers. I know loads of knitters like to make stitch markers, and who could blame them! They're small, beautiful and useful, great for using them yourself or giving them as small presents to knitting friends. That's what I've been doing up until now. Now I thought, I might try selling a few.

Hot chilis!

Chilis

Ok, it's the middle of November, so not really growth season. But tell that to our chili plant, which just grew and grew in size during the summer, and started growing chilis in the autumn! I've harvested one chili already, and five more are still growing! I guess it'll be a spicy hot winter for us (at least the one I already harvested was h-o-t!)
